June 2, 2006, Newsletter Issue #18: Looking for Your Civilian Buddies?

Tip of the Week

Family and friends of those in the service aren't the only people who need the help of free people search engines. If you are in the military and looking for old high school classmates or hometown friends you may have lost track of while you've been serving your country, fear not. There are plenty of free people finders online that can put you in touch with those long-lost pals.

A great way to begin is to simply do a Google search for the full name of your friend, plus any other information you can put into the search box--old addresses, phone numbers, etc. Sometimes this is all the free people finder you need, but other cases it's good to register for free sites such as Classmates.com. The benefit here is that your friends may be searching for you, too; your name and current contact information will be listed for them to find.

You can also use free people finder sites to track down the name and phone number of the reunion coordinator for your old high school. Contacting them could be your best option, as this person either has or is actively seeking the same information as you. The free people search method works best if try searching for more than one person--maybe one of your mutual friends has the contact information you need.
