February 23, 2007, Newsletter Issue #52: The American Red Cross, Part 2

Tip of the Week

Many volunteers work to support American soldiers by volunteering for Red Cross disaster relief efforts. After Hurricane Katrina, people from Louisiana serving in Iraq and Afghanistan made emergency calls to Red Cross telecommunication centers to check on their families and homes. Many times they voices they heard on the other end of the phone came from volunteers working in the call centers.

Those who want to support a soldier should consider such volunteer work, which made an incredible difference to those soldiers fighting in the war on terrorism--people who can't simply drop everything and come back home.
