September 8, 2006, Newsletter Issue #30: Women In Military History? What About the History You're Making Right Now?

Tip of the Week

The Women In Military Service for America Memorial is actively seeking women in uniform to register and be recorded. The WIMSA mission includes remembering all women who served, including their notes on memorable military experiences, their awards and decorations, and much more. According to the WIMSA web site (www.womensmemorial.org) "What we don't record, we lose". Women in military history now have a permanent record of their service to America, thanks to the efforts of WIMSA.

If you would like to have your service to the country recorded for history, or recognize a family member who deserves to be honored, fill out the free registration form at womensmemorial.org. Participating in WIMSA is a great way to contribute your portion of military history, and taking part may count towards your promotion, as many promotion packages have a place for "supporting military heritage or unit activities."
