March 17, 2006, Newsletter Issue #8: Get Pre-Approved

Tip of the Week

Before you start the hunt for a house, a very good step to take is getting pre-approved for your VA loan amount. Once you have gotten the credit check and VA home loan amount settled, you can start house hunting knowing that a seller will consider you a 'serious buyer', plus there won't be any worries about being approved for the asking price of the house.

You'll know in advance what you are able to buy. That kind of security will help a great deal as you search for the best value for your money. Having a VA mortgage is an excellent benefit, but getting the loan is only the first step! Finding the right home is just as important. With pre-approval, you avoid wasting time with property that's out of your price range or sellers who are unsure whether you mean business.
