Sports stadiums often have military themed days with special military discounts, especially around the 4th of July and Memorial Day. You can get good reduced prices on tickets, and in some cases, free tickets to see your favorite local and professional athletes just by showing your military ID card.
A family outing to the ballpark can be an expensive trip, but taking your loved ones on a military-themed day is well worth the trip, and there are usually fun extras; one example--one NFL Hall of Fame game featured the Army's Golden Knights parachute team. The soldiers parachuted into the stadium and delivered the official 'game ball' to the referees as the crowd cheered. Events like these are great fun, and thanks to your active military discount, not a heavy blow to your bank account.
